Manny Ramirez Busted... Again

Manny Ramirez walked away from his baseball career on Friday, after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs. Again. He tested positive in 2009, when he was with the Los Angeles Angels. He served a 50 game suspension for that. But double offenders serve double the punishment the second time around, so this time with the Tampa Bay Rays, the punishment was 100 games. Instead of serving this suspension, he decided the time had come, and he retired. Had he accepted the punishment, he would have been the first player to be suspended twice for a performance-enhancing drug, since the rule went into effect in 2005.
